A Portrait of England
A Portrait of England is a visual celebration of the English
countryside and its natural and human history. Published in association
with the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and introduced by
CPRE president Sir Max Hastings – it captures the essence of
the rural English landscape in all its glory, from majestic mountains
to rugged coastlines and nestling villages. This inspiring book also
pays tribute to CPRE’s 80th anniversary in 2006.
A Portrait of England combines
stunning landscape photography with quintessentially Enlish quotes from
authors such as Jane Austen and Wordsworth to celebrity CPRE and
countryside supporters such as Bill Bryson, Rick Stein, Richard Mabey,
Alan Titchmarsh and Monty Don.
